CARPentry Summerschool on Computational Modeling

of Cardiac Electromechanics

Background

Highly detailed simulations of cardiac function have become feasible, but performing such simulations remains to be a highly non-trivial problem, as complex workflows have to be employed to build, parameterize and execute simulations. The main focus of the 1st CARPentry Summer school on Computational Modeling of Cardiac Electromechanics is to provide an overview of the current state-of-the-art in modeling cardiac electromechanics, and to introduce and provide basic training for solving cardiac electrophysiology problems using the freely available modeling environment CARPentry.

Objectives

  • Present the cardiac system and its mathematical representation

  • Overview state-of-the-art in modeling cardiac electrophysiology and mechanics
  • Introduce freely available EP modeling framework CARPentry

  • Introduce circulatory model circAdapt (standalone and coupled)

  • Hands on training in solving cardiac modeling problems using the CARPentry environment


Audience:

The Summer School addresses researchers at all career levels (PhD student, Postdoctoral researcher, Senior Scientist) within academia and industry with research interests in computational modeling of cardiac electrophysiology and mechanics.
